BONAIRE - A DEDICATED UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE WITH MARTIN EDGE
Learn from a professional
Sunday 5th May - Monday 13th May 2002 (9 days) Leader: Martin Edge Group size limit: 10 photographers plus leader
Martin Edge is widely acknowledged as one of our leading underwater photographers and is probably one of the finest teachers of underwater photography skills in Britain today. His students range from those who have just acquired their first underwater photography equipment, and are keen to master the art of underwater photography, to those who are professional photographers still striving to perfect their skills. Martin's course combines the stimulus of diving with a group of like-minded people who constantly discuss and exchange ideas on underwater photography with individual teaching. Martin Edge's remarkable teaching skills are amply demonstrated by our Divequest Gallery. Most of the photographs included in the gallery have been taken by photographers who have studied with Martin. The standard of their work speaks for itself.
Have you ever known instantly that one is doing what one does best in life? Martin does, and it is when he is teaching underwater photography! In his own words, " I am one of the lucky ones. I get that familiar feeling quite frequently and it never surprises me. I have had this privilege for more than a decade now. When I am teaching others to fulfil their underwater photographic potential, I know that is quite simply what I do best. It is what I am meant to do with my life."
In recent year Martin's experimentation with new ideas and equipment has motivated him in his personal quest for the ultimate image, but it is still the joy of teaching the art and craft of underwater photography to others who are keen, enthusiastic, 'wannabe' image-makers that is Martin's main motivation. Martin (assisted by his wife Sylvia) has constructed a truly dedicated underwater photography curriculum, uniquely designed for the needs and requirements of each student. With only 10 participating divers there is ample time for one-to-one teaching both in and out of the water. Martin and Sylvia will get to know you, your equipment and most important of all, your aspirations. Take a look at the Divequest Gallery!
Martin's favourite location for his underwater school is Captain Don's Habitat in Bonaire. This will be Martin's sixth photography course on Bonaire, chosen for its 24-hour diving freedom, excellent shore diving, even better boat diving, same day E-6 slide film development, classroom and projection facilities and Martin's very own choice of dive sites. An unbeatable combination.
Martin will dive and teach beside you in safe and shallow waters, where it is possible to practice skills without the pressure and stress sometimes found at other locations. You will soon be familiar with Martin's favourite classroom Town Pier which will astound you with its potential for providing photo-opportunities. Diving includes 2 boat dives daily, at Martin's choice of location, plus unlimited shore diving at any time of the day or night. Many students will find that they have up to six hours underwater time each day in very shallow water.
Please note: As Martin uses his own 'think and consider' approach to underwater photography, it is advisable that clients wishing to apply for places on this course should have attended one of Martin's weekend courses in the UK. Details of these courses can be obtained by contacting the Divequest office.
