BONAIRE, SAND DOLLAR RESORT: A TEN YEAR OLD SPEAKS!

On arriving the whole place looked marvellous - swimming pool, tennis courts, pleasant surroundings and close by a few shops selling necessities, like ice cream. My family checked in with the friendly receptionist and then we went to check our room. For me it had everything I could wish for: cable television, a video, but most importantly a hammock on the verandah with a fantastic view of the sea and the gardens outside. I couldnýt wait to try it.
ýýý:ý:ýOn the first morning I went to my very first Ocean Classroom. I was very much looking forward to it. I was welcomed very nicely ad everyone was extremely friendly. There was me and a Spanish girl, but we could communicate as the lady who ran our group was multi-lingual. We went snorkeling and learned lots of snorkeling skills and techniques as well as some fish identification. I had immense fun all day and by the end of the week I could say three words in Spanish and identify many fish as well as having some basic first aid training! I also made lots of friends from all over the world. Ocean Classroom was brilliant and here are a few of the things I did during my fantastic week:

ý Snorkeling: 2 trips daily and a boat trip at the end of the week,
ý Basic first aid and one afternoon of emergency training
ý Painting
ý Fish identification
ý Clay work
ý Playing in the swimming pool
ý Night snorkel with my family

Ocean Classroom lasted from 0830 until 1500 and anyone from 6 years old to 16 years old can go there. It cost about $80 for each week. All-in-all, Ocean Classroom was a great experience for me and great fun. All children who go to Bonaire should go there.. Current Holidays to BONAIRE:   2005
